The New Canaan Society

In the summer of 1995, Andrea Vassell's life changed in the blink of an eye when she met a wealthy Goldman Sachs partner named Jim Lane who had traveled from New York to Chicago and made a reckless decision that would alter the course of both of their lives. At the time they met, Andrea was a twenty-year-old college student living a quiet life in a Chicago suburb with her family, and Jim was a forty-three-year-old Wall Street executive suffering from severe alcoholism and struggling to cope with the stress and isolation that comes along with working in the financial industry.
