We study amalgams of solvable Baumslag-Solitar groups over cyclic subgroups, where the subgroups are attached along powers of geodesic generators. We study quasi-isometries and commensurability between these groups. In certain cases we can show that two such groups are quasi-isometric if and only if they are commensurable.
