Minnesota aviation history, 1857-1945

Embraces 88 years of Minnesota aviation history, from the time when Minnesotans flew in balloons, four years before the Civil War began--and 46 years before First Flight--to Minnesota's first powered, controllable heavier-than-air flight in 1910, and from there to every aspect of the slow but gradual growth of Minnesota aviation, including the names of air show entrepeneurs, pilots and participants, (one of whom was a shy Minnesota lad named Charles A. Lindbergh).
