About
"The Art of Repair is a multi-genre collection of poetry and prose. Thematically inspired by kintsukuroi, the Japanese art of repairing damaged pottery with gold, the select poems, short story and novel excerpt tell the stories of women who overcome broken lives through resilience and hope. In the short story, A Table for Two, a young girl adapts to a new life after years of abuse when she is moved to a new country and new home with an older woman who has adopted her. In the novel in progress, We Were People, a young women sets out to make peace with her past and find hope for a new future through the friendship of her patients at an end-of-life care facility. Each story echoes the hope that there is nothing beyond repair, and that every broken place can be the space for gold"--Abstract, page iv.
