About
THE WAR OF THE LONELYMy loneliness sometimes seems more than I can bear. I search for a look of understanding, a kind gesture... does anyone care? The pain of this loneliness, it draws out, cutting like a blade. Where is Your oasis God, my provision for emotional shade? I thought at times I would succumb, to be consumed by this pain; is loneliness the pestilence of my soul; the scarlet letter I must bear? There is war, a great battle within; a predator, who shadows my being, is this all for which I was born? Have I no greater purpose or sense of meaning? Father, have You no cure for this disease, no balm or inoculation making me whole, or have You left me as well, a lone soldier, warring to emancipate my soul? No longer can I bear the burden, this weight is too great for me. I need reinforcements, a master weapon against melancholy! In the midst of the chaos, I sense an eerie silence in my heart, a quiet, gentle voice speaks, removing loneliness' piercing dart! You whispered that You would never leave or forsake me, and nothing could pluck me out of Your hand. The sting has finally been vanquished; the sword has dropped from my hand! I now scoff at the shadow of loneliness, pain it can no longer bring. I've felt the loving touch of the Prince of Peace, and contentment is my song to sing!" "The fight is not yours", the Whisper spoke, "the battle is the Lord's. Trust in the Savior, struggle no more, and rest from wars of loneliness in your soul!" A.C.T.S.
