A comprehensive annotated bibliography of black artists and art in the United States, spanning nearly three centuries. It identifies more than 8,000 African-American fine, vernacular, and craft artists, as well as art historians, museum and gallery directors, and curators. Contains bibliographical references to artists and also to art movements and other broadhistorical concepts. Includes artists' biographies and citations to reproductions of the artists' work.
