Bonnefantenmuseum collectie Nederlandse en Duitse schilderkunst, 1500-1800

A diverse collection like the Bonnefantenmuseum's, with such a long and complex history, calls for a great variety of publications. Since its foundation in 1884, the museum has therefore produced a broad spectrum of books, brochures and catalogues. However, the last comprehensive catalogue of paintings and sculpture, the 'Catalogus van Schilderijen en Beeldhouwwerken', dates from as far back as 1958. This new publication provides a brief outline of the complete collection of Netherlandish and German painting from ca. 1500 to 1800, including works owned by the museum and those on long-term loan. And secondly, the guide gives a more detailed interpretation of around ten paintings, often with new dates or attributions, thus meeting our objective of conducting research on the collection and releasing it to the public.
