About
Fairfield, a neighourhood in Victoria British Columbia, has been home to some remarkable Canadians. For many centuries it was the home of the Songhees people. They were followed by the Father of British Columbia, the first woman to own property in BC, the Hanging Judge, the Mother Superior, the Heroes of Foul Bay and the Royal Family of Hockey. Many major events have also shaped modern day Fairfield, including the Guns of Dallas Road, the arrival of streetcars, the 1909 real estate boom, the building of the schools and the churches anmd the trauma of two world wars and the Great Depression.
