About
Kit Buckmaster awoke one April Sunday with no memory of the past. The dark, fine-featured man beside her said: "I'm Jim, and you're my wife."
Kit didn't remember him.
As time passed she grew deeply troubled by his evasiveness to all her questions, by his obvious unhappiness, and by his tension when they were with friends.
In her mounting fear of the present and future Kit was driven frantic by her desire to recover her memory of the past, and so she followed a fading trail to New York City, to Mexico, and back again to Jim's Maryland estate, for the final stunning climax which her regained memory brought.
