This work explores with journalistic mastery the figure of Elena Garro and her errant destiny. From an extensive investigation, which includes interviews, correspondence, historical, personal and photographic archives to date unknown, Rafael Cabrera follows the tracks left by Garro in his multiple and frantic escapades, both real and imaginary. In the center of the plot, she addresses the role that the author of Memories of the Future played in the Student Movement of 1968. Her position is clear: to say that Elena "betrayed" the intellectuals is to insist on a commonplace and speak without knowing her case. Undoubtedly, the reader has in his hands a fascinating story, little known and at the same time crucial in the cultural and political life of Mexico. Biographical work on crucial moment in life and reputation of Mexican writer (1916-1988), who was widely repudiated over controversy regarding her role in 1968 student movement and intellectual infighting that followed. Based on new information uncovered through interviews, correspondence, historical and personal archives and photographs, Cabrera seeks to redeem Garro and clarify numerous misunderstandings and inaccuracies in case.
