This research project evaluated the structural and performance characteristics of two cylindrical rubber fenders under simulated marine vessel loading. The purpose of this research effort is to establish design and performance criteria for vertically floating rubber fenders that can be applied to the specific needs of the Alaska Marine Highway System (AMHS) ferry vessels.
