First published in 1982 as University of Canterbury Publication No. 30. Since the first edition of the guide a number of fungi have undergone taxonomic revision and therefore the names cited in the text do not always agree with the classification accepted in 1994. Introductory chapters cover the hunting, collecting, recording and preservation of larger fungi. Later chapters cover the order of fungi in turn, giving descriptions of each fungi, often accompanied by a line drawing. Aimed at serious amateur botanists and students. Includes a glossary, index and fifteen colour photographs.
