Gatherings

This book, a survey of contemporary Indigenous art, acknowledges the significant role that art practice, culture and tradition plays in the lives of Queensland's Indigenous Australian peoples. The word 'gatherings' gives rise to the sorts of values, understandings and belief systems that are indelibly imprinted within Aboriginal frameworks. Overall, the work represented reflects a powerful Indigenous perspective on a broad range of issues, presented in a variety of media.
