The author was born in 1910 and grew up on the south shore of Lake Erie and the Vermilion River. He writes of his memories of the days of sail and steam and early diesel on the Great Lakes. The book is still available from and all proceeds go to the Great Lakes Museum in Vermilion, Ohio.
