Azul

Publication of Azul, the first book by Nicaraguan writer Rubén Darío, written at 21, became a founding landmark of modernist literature. From the enigmatic title to the structure of the work, consisting of stories and poems, this volume represents the modernist period. Critics of the time claimed that with this collection, Rubén Darío had a new sense of rhythm and sonority to add to the Spanish language.
