About
According to the Library of Congress, Galanti published Historia do Brasil in 5 volumes (or tomes), in chronological sequence, between 1910 and 1913. I found out he was a priest and taught at Colegio Anchieta, in Nova Friburgo, Brazil, in the 19th century. Besides this, he published at least three other titles. But Galanti seems to be lost in history - for months I have tried to find some other information about him, but apart from having his name on many streets in different cities - he vanished. Volume 1 of Historia do Brasil, has 468 pages and tells the history from Historia de Portugal to Domínios de Hespanha, up to 1624. He very much defends the jesuits of the colonial times, regarding their protection to the natives in Brazil and the "approval" of African slavery.
