Incomodar la mirada

The book by art historian Guillermina Fressoli uses the tools provided by the history and theory of art to understand the ways in which the sensitive is configured and disputed in moments of social and economic crisis events - between the 90s and the 2000s -. The cases explored include the Museo del Puerto, the Museo Taller Ferrowhite and the Museo Móvil de Federación and the visual procedures of artists such as Eduardo Molinari and Patricio Larrambebere. The author "examines the expressive quality of memory that is part of the experience of art, in the framework of a time in which the construction of social memory was put into discussion in Argentina. To this end, she studied a limited but representative set of artistic and cultural productions that are characterized by the introduction of questions and conflicts that energize the stable ways of showing and reflecting on the common past.
