Ten years after leaving his wife Christine and their five-year-old daughter, Jessica, Kyle Dawson returns home after being released from prison for robbery and drug possession. Sober, with a new outlook on life, and with the help of his friend Trent, he regains the once shattered trust of his daughter. Now fifteen, Jessica cautiously welcomes her father into her life. But she is careful not to reveal to him the dark secrets she harbors; drugs, abuse, and domestic violence are all part of the only life she has ever known.
