What future awaits humanity as it comes to face to face with the Wolfernians? From myth and ancient lore come tales of werewolves, and from the Native American Indians, mystical stories of the Spirit Wolf. Truth be told, creatures of this kind have walked among us throughout Earth's history-a race of intelligent werebeings that have lived with humans and even regarded them as friends. However, as ages passed, humans came to look upon them as dangerous beasts, especially those they called "shape-changers." Therefore, the Wolfernians went to hide from civilizations for centuries. In this twenty-first century, the Wolfernians are daring to emerge from their hiding places and once again join the world of men. To do so, they will turn to Jim Proudwolf Proudheart, a powerful young man who soon learns about his otherworldly heritage. He could change into the werewolf named Proudwolf. However, will he be able to fulfill his destiny and bring peace and understanding to the world?
