'Nefertiti's Diary' is the fictional account of what the diary of a Queen could have looked like - had she written one.
Following her upbringing as Mitannian Princess Tadukhipa and finding out that she is being secretly married to the Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep III by her Father - King Tushratta of Mitanni in a political marriage when she is only fifteen, Tadukhipa arrives in Egypt and starts learns new royal customs. She writes about changing her name to Nefertiti, how she feels becoming a Great Royal Widow at seventeen, turning Egypt upside down with her husband Pharaoh Amenhotep IV/Akhenaten to Atenism as well as learning what it means to be a Queen of Egypt. Also writes about the births of her six daughters and the pain of losing her only son to stillbirth, to realising that true love does not come second - it comes first. But when she realises that her reign as Queen and her powerful Dynasty is crumbling around her, she is forced to admit her deepest feelings - only to the pages of her diary.
Nefertiti writes in her diary up until she is ready to take the path to the afterlife that all Pharaohs and Queens take, even writing a short letter after her arrival in what she calls 'The Valley of the Queens in the Afterlife'.
Set in Ancient Egypt, this Diary transports you back to a time where Egypt was at its wealthiest and offers an intimate glimpse into the life of a royal Egyptian Queen in the middle of one of the most powerful dynasties ever recorded in the ancient world.
