Population dynamics

This volume contains the proceedings of a symposium conducted by the Mathematics Research Center at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, held on June 19-21, 1972. The application of mathematics to the study of human population growth and change has undergone expansion and development in many directions, as reflected by the papers presented herein. Topics include effects of demographic events on population forecasting, mobility models, marriage models, contraception, the spacing of children, the effects of mortality on the age-structure of population, and the application of stochastic processes to a variety of questions.
