About
Ms. Warburton has compiled information about Henry Margerum, who emigrated from Wiltshire, England about 1682 to escape religious persecution, and ten generations of his descendants. Descendants lived in New Jersey, Ohio and elsewhere. Includes Bayley, White, Riggs, Lucas, and related families. Entries may include names, dates of birth, marriage and death, spouse's name and dates, occupation and burial location plus names of known children. Additional information is provided about the families of some of the sons. The information appears to be accurate but the book could have benefited from the inclusion of a descendancy chart or use of a numbering system which would have provided more structure. A second section contains data on families that have not been linked to Henry's family but are probably related. The index is divided into Margerum names, Inter-married names and Associate names. References are listed but are often non-specific, e.g. Census Records, DAR Patriot Index, Pennsylvania Magazine of History, and Vital Statistics Files. There are no footnotes so it is impossible to determine the source of individual facts.
