About
An attempt to provide a comprehensive introduction to the techniques of composition and perspective. These two fundamental aspects of painting are notoriously difficult for the amateur to master. They are explained for the beginner with exercises to build up expertise. The author, Bill Ward formerly taught at Harrow School of Art in London. The "Art Class" series is aimed at the practical art market and builds up into a structured art course. The series combines equipment, technique and projects in a structured format which is illustrated in colour with step by step illustrations, works by the authors and other artists. The emphasis throughout is on learning through practise and each book contains projects to help readers develop new skills. The series provides a fully worked course in art, though each book is complete in itself and all are written by practising artists and teachers. It is aimed at the leisure artist, but all projects and techniques have been tested by amateur artists to ensure that they are explained correctly and comprehensively.
