A finales de 1975, al elaborar el diseno curricular del plan de Ingenieria Industrial de la Universidad del Valle, considere necesario y conveniente introducir una linea academica orientada a la creacion de nuevas empresas, la cual involucraba, en adicion al curso convencional de Ingenieria Economica (Evaluacionde proyectos), un curso denominado Iniciacion de Nuevas Empresas y la orientacion del Proyecto de grado a la conformacion real de nueva empresa.Este concepto, que parecia extrano, en esa epoca, en el ambito educativo,fue implementado y hoy continua vigente, claro esta, con los ajustes que brindan el conocimiento adquirido y la experiencia.
