At the age of fifteen he ran away to sea and this is the beginning of a fascinating story. When this book was published the author was one of the few survivors still alive who participated in the Battle of Jutland. With active service spanning two world wars, the Russian Revolution, the Spanish civil War and other areas policed by the Royal Navy.
