In de bundel 'Blauwziek', uit 2006, geschreven in het midden van het leven, stelde dichter Bernard Dewulf vast: Zo hebben wij bestaan, altijd in het naderen, ving iets te zingen en zingend, te ontbreken aan. Nu, voorbij dat midden, verschijnt een nieuwe bundel: 'Naar het gras'. Nog altijd luistert hij naar het zingen en het ontbreken. Wat valt er anders te horen of te zien? Maar het laatste gras gaapt en gelijk zingen de uren luider. Want de tijd verstrijkt. Warm en koud, even gloeiend als ijzig. Het zingen wordt langzaam een gerucht.
