About
Alm's catalog is an index to a collection of 1286 17th- and 18th-century Venetian librettos at UCLA, which have been gathered and preserved in a series of 117 small volumes, each volume having the spine title "Raccolta de' drammi." Entries for the librettos are presented in the order in which they are bound within the volumes (roughly chronological). Each libretto has been identified by volume (i.e. year) and its position within that volume (e.g., 1742, no. 5). Each libretto also has a sequential index number from 1 to 1286. The catalog's numerous indexes allow searching by categories such as title, poet, composer, ballet master, set designer, costume designer, singers, dancers, printers, theaters, genres, and roles, among others. Also included are appendices of anagrams, Arcadian names and academies, nicknames, and pseudonyms, and a list of those index numbers contained in each volume.
