Nkandaurama

The play deals with an event that occurred in 1988 at the Dr. Kampungu Secondary School at Rundu, in the Kavango region. Pupils boycotted classes, in solidarity with other students in the Ovambo region, who felt threatened by the South African Defence Force camps which had set up in the vicinity of their school. As a result of the boycott, police and Koevoet troops were sent into schools with instructions to beat up children. Appalled by the attacks, parents demanded that the principal, as well as four other teachers who had collaborated with police, be removed from the school and the region.
