About
This study focuses on stream of consciousness writing technique in Adam Reta’s ‘Etémété Lomi Shita’. It is an attempt to investigate the use of stream of consciousness technique in three novellas of Adam Reta in his collection “Etémété Lomi Shita”.Earlier studies proved the existence of the technique in selected Amharic literary works while a single dissertation disproved its existence in a selected novel. What makes this current study different from earlier ones is that it takes works of only a single author which in turn contributed to a more detailed analysis. The findings of the study are expected to contribute to the development of Amharic literature in creating awareness, in showing how contemporary authors are using the stream of consciousness technique and in being a stepping-stone for further studies.
