A Perfect Game (The Game Trilogy Book 1)

In the near future the Duquesne family struggles to deal with their daughter’s diagnosis of the fatal Proxy Virus which only seems to target children under five years old. The only reliable way to combat the virus is to replace the afflicted organs with cybernetic replacements. This has led to the acceleration of human evolution resulting in a new subspecies of humanity called Homo Cyberneticus. Society is torn between supporting man or machine with the focal point on the sport of Baseball as Ricky Blackwell, thought by many to be cybernetically enhanced, seeks to shatter records and Sammy Jameson the pitcher who desperately seeks to stop him from changing the game forever.

After being injured in what may be the beginning of the Second Korean War, Captain Alexander Duquesne must learn to live with the cybernetic replacement of his legs. Upon his discharge from the U.S. Army, Alex agrees to be Ricky Blackwell’s bodyguard in exchange for access to the leading cybernetic surgeon in the world Dr. Richard Isaac. Alex has to defend his new client against the unknown group that has been threatening to kill him not only to deliver a blow to what they see as an abomination, but also because they believe that Blackwell carries the cure to the Proxy Virus in his body.
