About
With the curatorship of Gaudêncio Fidelis, the exhibition presented 223 works by 85 nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Adriana Varejão, Alair Gomes, Alfredo Volpi, Cândido Portinari, Efrain Almeida, Guignard, Leonilson, Lygia Clark, Pedro Américo, Sidney Amaral and Yuri Firmeza, amongst others. The selected art works which explore the diversity of gender expression, come from public and private collections that cover from the middle of the 20th century until today. This exhibition is the culmination of a curatorial project originated in 2010 that began to advance to a concrete form from 2013 on, going through several stages of preparation until finally obtaining sponsorship in 2016. In 2018, after being censored and shut down by Santander bank in Porto Alegre in 2017, and by a subsequent successful crowdfunding campaign, the exhibition was reopened at the Parque Lage School of Visual Arts.
