Krypton Nights: Poems (Paris Review Prize in Poetry)

Almost every poem in Bryan D. Dietrich's first collection, Krypton Nights, concerns the DC Comics character Superman. The result is priceless. Sometimes funny and often heartbreaking, each poem is a careful construction and serious meditation on our twenty-first century reality-how we feel and who we are, as quirky or disturbing as that may be. Bryan D. Dietrich is a recipient of the Discovery/The Nation Award, a Writers At Work Fellowship, and the Eve of St. Agnes Prize, and his poems have appeared in numerous literary publications. He is chair of the English department at Newman University in Wichita, Kansas, and a proud member of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Fan Club.
