First of 2 volumes in 8vo. pp. xvi, 213. Red morocco. Includes engraved and tinted title pages and 28 plates in the first volume, 17 in the second. Those plates marked S.I. were etched by the author. The rest were executed by Mr. Cornelius Apostool, of Amsterdam.
The dedication copy, inscribed in the present volume, ‘Francis Grose Esq., from the Author.’ The Shakespeare forger William Henry Ireland accompanied his father on this initial ‘tour.’ See also ESTC, T139136.
