When they were apart, Sammy awakened each morning with the feeling of her body on his fingertips. Maggie coped, but her dreams were ragged and her breath felt shallow without him. Back together now, feisty musician Maggie Lagan joins basketball player Sammy Black Wolf in Phoenix. With Withher rusty orange Subaru and Montana attitude, Maggie may not fit in, but she provides much needed spice and entertainment to Sammy's predictable, if not exhausting, NBA routine. Maggie quickly becomes the highlight of his day, which shows in his dimpled laughter and renewed energy on the basketball court. But Maggie didn't expect to meet Ella, beautiful WNBA star and Sammy's ex-girlfriend. When someone tries to strangle Ella in Sammy's living room, Sammy and Maggie find themselves prime suspects in not one, but two different murder investigations. To complicate matters, the killer appears to be targeting Sammy's ex-girlfriends.
