About
Just Another Girl is about a child named Sue who was raised in a middle class family in Iowa. She was a good student, took dance lessons, had excellent attendance in Sunday school and appeared to have everything a child wanted or needed. Her father owned a business, was a Mason and was respected in the community. Her mother was a member of Eastern Star, White Shrine and a stay-at-home mom until Sue started middle school. The family appeared stable and successful. However, behind closed doors lurked the dysfunction of incest, sexual abuse, alcoholism/drug addiction, suicide and marital discord. The book focuses on Sue's experiences, both positive and negative, first as a daughter, then as a woman. More importantly, it focuses on her personal issues, her decision to get help and her recovery from abuse and addiction. It is a story of hope and healing.
