Carmilla Carnstein just wanted to lay low for a couple of weeks before leaving the country. She had been roaming over North America for two decades, and figured it was time to change continents before any of her enemies caught up. She just needed a place to rest for a bit, forge a new identity and acquire some valuables, and then she would be ready to leave.

Unfortunately, her dismal luck with women never gave her a rest, and Carmilla found herself entranced with the young woman living on the apartment next door. She might end up putting Laura in more danger though. Carmilla is a vampire, an old one, and hunters were always after her kind, hoping to kill them and without caring about the innocents in their path, and they weren’t the only ones. If there was something Carmilla didn’t lack it was enemies, and many of them were creatures as dangerous as vampires and some even worse. Could she help Laura and not damn her? Or would she be condemning the other woman to a painful death simply by trying to help?
