The artist Isabelle de Borchgrave (1946) is known for her wonderful sculptures in paper and textiles. She invites us in Miradas de Mujeres (The female regard) to step into the home of Frida Kahlo (1907?1954), the famous Casa Azul, via a magnificent trompe l?oeil universe constructed entirely from paper. De Borchgrave depicts an entire Kahlo world ? cupboards, carpets, cactuses, trees, dresses and jewellery ? in paper and colours that remind us of the artist?s joie de vivre, a side of her that is frequently forgotten. The resulting publication is a gem in the form of a leporello or concertina book.
