Phenomenology and Marxism

The essays collected here under the title Penomenology and Marxism were originally presented at a workshop which took place annually between 1975 and 1978 at the Inter-University Centre in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. The course was organized by a Belgian, a Yugoslav and a German, and participants were teachers, assistants and students from a whole series of countries. The setting of the workshop in an old sea-faring and merchant city on the Dalmatian coast is indicative of the interest in phenomenology which one encounters in eastern European countries, which are now very much under the influence of Marxism.
