About
Abstract: Guidelines are offered to aid physicians in providing nutritional advice to patients regarding food and nutrition concepts, proper food storage and cooking methods, the nutritional adequacy of typical (often ethnic) foods, nutrient supplements, and food misinformation. This module is 1 of 16 covering different aspects of nutrition in primary care. This educational module also should enable the physician to evaluate a patient's typical dietary intake for nutritional adequacy, indentify the effects of food storage, cooking, and processing on its nutrient content, and assist patients in the proper identification of nutrition information on food labels.
