From English summary: Religious education challenged. five models can be distinguished, namely (1) the 'open pluralistic model', (2) the 'closed Christian model', (3) the 'model of supportive family network', (4) the 'collaboration model' and (5) the 'discontinuity model'. (1) The 'open pluralistic model' fits in closely with the 'tolerance model' of the teachers. This model is typified by an open attitude on the part of the students towards the pluralistic society and those with other fundamental life options. ... Teachers will be expected to engage their students in a communicative process, to present the Christian faith tradition as relevant and intelligible in a pluralised and detraditionalised class context and, in doing so, to also take into account the uniqueness of other fundamental life options as well as the particular backgrounds of the students. One of the core conclusions of this research, as confirmed by the typology, is that the teacher finds himself or herself in a tension between either a loyal stance towards tradition or siding with the fundamental life options present in the classroom. An engaged conversation between the Christian tradition and fundamental life options seems to be very difficult if not impossible for teachers of religion. ... When young people have to indicate how often certain people speak about faith, it is the teacher of religion who quite plainly comes forward as its most important discussion partner.
