Apparently talking to ghosts counts as performing magic without a licence, and if Nessa wants to keep working as a medium she must go on a quest. Of course, nothing is ever as simple as it seems.

On this quest Nessa must find out who killed Ed, a poltergeist so annoying that she could easily imagine murdering him herself. It soon becomes apparent that Ed is still being chased by an unidentified bad guy, and this bad guy knows some bad, bad magic.

Narrowing down the suspects for Ed’s murder is not going to be easy. Not to mention the fact that Nessa, while being constantly supervised by a shapeshifting Department official, isn’t sure exactly which aspects of her magical repertoire are legal and which aren’t. This quest is shaping up to be something of a nightmare – complete with zombies, vampires and witches, not to mention Satan and the Grim Reaper…

Well, you know.
