Songs of the Mist

"Songs of the Mist" takes the reader on journey of self discovery from the banks of River Ganges in Varanasi to the Himalayan peaks, along with the Protagonist - Ashutosh and the mysterious wandering Tibetan Monk. As the journey makes its way amongst hidden monasteries, tribal villages and ancient temples of Himalaya, Ashutosh finds his way out of heart-break, pain and suffering as well as finding solace in the company of elusive and sensual village girl Kyaka. As the main characters converge in Rishikesh on their own inner search, the scientist Ayan realises the reality of Calliope's relationship with Ashutosh, who himself is not even aware of the consequences.

The core theme of the 3 Part series 'The Monk Key' has been in Shashi's heart over many decades and in last few years he took time to shape the first part 'Songs of the Mist' with the essences of ancient wisdom and his extensive spiritual travel across Himalayas.
