Behind Castle Walls

Young Ciaran /Keer'-en/ is struggling to find his place in his new role as the monarch of Dunsten. The recent attacks on his nation have had disastrous effects on his people and have tortured him beyond anything else he has dealt with, including the loss of his father. While his advisor pushes him to leave his heart out of his reign, Ciaran ultimately follows its lead to a peasant who has the courage to change everything that has been wrong in his coastal nation. Her strength and prowess inspire him to stand as the leader he had always wanted to be but he soon learns that the consequences of his choice can be as chilling as the terrors he has already seen. Can he convince her to stay and help him protect his people or will she turn her back on them -and him- forever? Through it all, King Ciaran must overcome his insecurities and pain as he forges his own path as Sovereign of his beautiful homeland.
