Quiescence

Quiescence is a collection of poems written between September 2006 and March 2008 that represents an aesthetic that seeks to marry canorous language and elegant diction with themes of memory, fraudulence, disillusionment, antiquity, and the ephemerality of happiness. These poems are a distillation of memory to its most fundamental elements, among them regret, sorrow, and disappointment; they alternate fixity with illusion; they sustain a momentum that carries them to some endeavor at resolution, no matter how fragile. They exist in the moment when a memory becomes most profound, and its import becomes perceptible through its positioning within a larger context of recollections.
