Future pass 3.0

In cooperation with the Wereldmuseum, the Today Art Museum of Beijing presented the exhibition 'Future Pass 1.0' at the Venice Biennale in 2011. This was followed by 'Future Pass 2.0' at the Wereldmuseum. In this exhibition the public for the first time became acquainted with the art form that will dominate the 21st century: 'Animamix'. 'Animamix' blends manga, anime and the classical art traditions of the East, and combines them with Western art traditions. It is a colourful art form that uses humour and satire to paint a picture of a globalizing society which places the ideal of eternal youth at its centre. Like traditional Eastern art, Animamix tells stories. Thanks to the internet and digital technology, artists from East and West now communicate with each other using a new, universal language of images. Their futuristic art will dominate the 21st century. 'Future Pass 3.0' will present three exponents of this international art form. The work of all three offers far more than meets the eye.
