There are fourteen contributions from distinguished researchers from eight countries. The emphasis is on modern numerical methods for waves. The Harten Memorial Lecture presented by P.L. Roe, University of Michigan, USA, deals with state-of-the-art numerical methods with novel applications. The book is suitable for scientists and engineers in all areas involving wave propagation.
