During the 13th century scientists as doctors in medecine, botanists pharmacologists came in Middle east from Spain , Maghreb and Africa and all the most cities of the muslim world to study or write or teach in Egypt or in Syria during the last years of Ayyoubid' s epoch. Ibn Baytar is an already very well known botanist and pharmacologist.Leaving Spain and Seville as Christians are reconquering the muslim Andalus he became soon chief of the doctors in the bimaristan of Cairo. In 1240 he arrives in Syria and in Damascus to write his main book his Treatise of medicinal plants and foods. Living in a family of scientists in Damascus he met in this house all of the most famous scientists of the muslim world but also richs merchants, travellers, famous artists, brilliants poets and musicians as also famous cookers... But Middle east as after and as always there is no peace. All these scientists are living and working but there are in danger as there works and studies... The crusaders are threatening all the country and disputing Al Qods (Jerusalem) while the Mongols 's army is devastating cities, viilages and countries at the borders... The precious manuscript will escape all the dangers with the help of the syrian family and a clever ambassador of the Sudan realm...In the 19e century , a french orientalist but also doctor in the french army of the conquest of Algeria will discover a ancient copy and give the only translation available of this essential work...All the members of the family will escape the Mongols moving to Venise...
