Propeller planes like the Lockheed Super Constellation were still being used in August 1958 when Flight 607E from Amsterdam to New York went down shortly after a refueling stop in Shannon, Ireland. My e-book looks at the era, the disappointed relatives of passengers who failed to arrive in New York, and the likely causes of an airline disaster that killed 99 people. My work has been compiled from aviation books and also from newspaper accounts in the days after the big Lockheed plane went down approximately 50 miles west of Galway Bay.
