About
On a dare, Sammy recites the age-old chant of “Bloody Mary” into a mirror with a roll of his eyes. Unexpectedly, his body is pulled through his own bathroom mirror the very next morning. What he doesn’t understand is waking up in the woods, miserably wet and lost, right before dawn. Rourke has been living in the twilight for most of his life. Once a peaceful place full of light, the lands are now dark and dangerous; filled with monsters that are more than willing to kill any who cross their paths. There is still a small glimmer of hope to be found. Like all Illume that survived when the mists fell over the lands, the self-trained swordsman is making his way to the Last City. Things change drastically when he rescues an Other from some Wolves, one of the bloodthirsty monsters in the dark. Sammy is nothing but trouble. He’s annoying, argues with Rourke, and asks the most stupid questions. There is something about the Other that the swordsman just can’t seem to figure out and decides to bring Sammy along with him. Together, making their way through the darkness, they follow the light.
