Mad About The Boy: Orlando: An Evocative Gay Romance

After the brilliant but disturbed Stephen is fished out of the river he tells Orlando that he wants to be with him for “eternity.” But what does this really mean? When they had previously lived together the boy genius had seemed very unsure about embarking on a physical relationship. Orlando on his part didn’t want to lose a friendship so dear to him by bringing too much pressure to bear. Well the softly, softly approach has led to near-disaster so Orlando considers whether or not he should become more masterful.

“After I’d taken care of the dishes I also went through to what was now our shared room. My heart was in my mouth as they say but my cock was hardening as well. Would this work? When I went into the room Stephen was already in bed. I had a memory flash – back to that terrible morning when, after wild-horse Jan had jerked the boy off, I’d ordered Stephen out of the house. I quailed; was I making a mistake by adopting this new approach? No, I figured – I had to be resolute, I had to be bold, I had to be masterful. That was it! ‘Masterful!’”

Orlando’s life becomes even more complicated when a boy called Tyler arrives at the Playhouse Theatre where he works. Although the theatre company has several “boys” in the actors’ ranks Tyler is actually a real boy because he’s still in his teens. Apart from that he suffers from dyslexia and has a pronounced lisp. Orlando is commissioned by the management to turn the challenged boy into an actor.

Although 'Mad About The Boy: Orlando' is Book Two of a series it may be read as a stand-alone story.
